A fridge freezer is a long-term household purchase. Start with dimensions and daily use before comparing finishes or connected features.
1. Measure the complete space
Check width, height, depth, ventilation gaps, nearby doors and the route from the entrance to the final position.
2. Choose a realistic split
A 70/30, 60/40 or 50/50 split describes the relative fridge and freezer space. Choose based on how you actually shop and store food.
3. Check noise and location
Noise matters more in open-plan homes, studio flats and rooms used for work or sleep.
4. Compare energy use properly
Use the current UK A–G label and compare annual kWh figures between similarly sized appliances.
